Today, I feel like I have a lot to say.
As we all know, the Grammys were last night. I want to start by acknowledging how powerful it was to see so many celebrities wearing “ICE OUT” pins. The state of America right now is genuinely scary, and seeing artists use their platform to speak up matters. Hailey and Justin were both photographed wearing these pins, and I think that deserves recognition.
Now, let’s talk about the Grammys themselves.
It’s no secret that the Grammys have been losing viewership for quite some time. There are many reasons for this, but one of the biggest is how frustrating it is for fans to watch their favorite artists continuously lose awards they genuinely deserve. We tune in hoping to celebrate them—only to leave disappointed.
I want to talk about Justin Bieber specifically.
Back in 2022, Justin and Hailey attended the Grammys, which was a big deal. If you know anything about Justin, you know he struggles heavily with anxiety. Award shows come with immense pressure—competition, expectations, and the reality that only one person can win. That year, Justin was nominated for eight Grammys. Eight. And somehow, he left without winning a single one.
Now let’s fast forward to last night’s Grammys.
Justin was nominated for four Grammys, which is still a huge accomplishment—and once again, he walked away with nothing.
At this point, I truly believe the Grammys are pick-and-choose about who they reward. Because there is no way Swag didn’t deserve at least one win. If we’re talking numbers alone, Swag was a surprise drop that quickly hit #2 on the Billboard charts, which is not easy to do. The album featured collaborations with artists like Mk.gee, Dijon, Sexyy Red, and more.
The album is nothing short of incredible. So how did it not win a single Grammy?
Why invite him at all, just to do this to him again?
It honestly feels like the Grammys are using Justin for viewership. They know that his presence brings eyes to the show. And this isn’t to discredit other artists—many of them absolutely bring viewership too. But let’s be real: Justin Bieber is one of the most influential artists in the world.
Year after year, he’s snubbed for awards he deserves. It feels intentional—like they build him up just to knock him down. And I’m tired of it. At this point, I don’t even want him to attend anymore. I don’t want to watch either. He deserved better.
Sorry for the rant—I’m just genuinely upset for him.
To end on a positive note: his performance was beautiful. Just a boy and his guitar, the way it’s always been. I wish I could attend his Coachella performance—I already know it’s going to be amazing.
